Changes to my study programme

 

I want to start this blog saying this campus isn't qualified for people that use wheelchair, and it's the first I like to change. I understand that the field and the landscapes are difficult to move, but in the building? There aren't ramps and elevators. The pavement is barely well done. 

The second could be free photocopies. In others faculties are free, but here you have to pay. It's a facility for my study, and it's cheap.

I am not expert in curriculums, so I think it's fine (since my ignorance). I prefer activities in class, not homework and not informs, just me, doing the things with my own hands.

The money management have to change. You can see a lazy gestion in the bathrooms; in winter it floods, there is not soap, toilet paper runs out fast, the washbasins are different from each other (this wouldn't b a problem if they weren't all broken)

Finally, and not least, the teachers. There are really good teacher in the Campus and I am grateful for have them, but there are others teacher that seems they don't like to teach. I woud like all teacher to have at least one teaching course.

Time travel to the past or future

 I really would like to go to Greece. Who not? It's known for plethora of ancient ruins, whitewashed villages and good cuisine. It's not only beautiful, it's a interesting country to travel. 

One of the best place to visit in Greece is the Cape Sounion, situated at the southernmost tip of the Attica Peninsula. It's know as the site of the ancient greek temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea. 

I don't have clear the time in the future. Maybe when I have a job in a few years, with my own money, and an advanced skills in the english language. In Greece, the people speak greek, but english too (And I will not learn and old language)

I am not so interested in monuments. I like to know about their history, the greek gods, the legends and myths about drama, war and monsters. It's like to hear a tragic history, and the frecuent characters are Poseidon, Athena, Zeus and compnay.

I only stay in Greece with such money in my pocket. If I decide stay there, I would like to live in Santorini, for have the dramatic views and the stunning sunsets. The disadvantage would be the active volcano.

Now, I would like to stay for vacations, just to meet the country.

My dream job

My dream job, to be honest, it's not especific.

Maybe the people call it investigator, or scientific. Any job that helps to find a solution for the Water crisis, or the Famine are my interest. 

I imagine I could work in find plant varieties, that resist the drought, and are easy to cultivate and work. Like potatoes. There are companies working in genetic variability in plants, and give some of these characteristics.

I really need laboratory and sciences skills, for investigate plant genetics, and a lot study about resource distribution, water potencial, genetic characteristics, and others.

I will accept any salary above $500.000 CLP (So especific? Maybe). I don't think it's to much. but it's enough for me. While I can work in a laboratory, contribute to a investigation about previous topics, I'm content.

I actually study agronomy, and it's enough to get knowledge about plants, irrigation systems, crops, environment, and everthing that is used for the job. I have not think in a master, or doctorate, but I have time. I hope find a master that includes these topics.

I really don't dream on it. It's a personal goal, not a desire. I just want to be useful, and give to people the opportunity for take care to Earth.

The best holidays ever

My best holidays was this year, in February, in my summer's holidays.

In February, I was invite to Valdivia, fot the wedding of my boyfriend's cousin. We had yo take a flight, and it was my first time in a plane, so I was so nervious about that (you know, I saw Final Destination, I WAS SCARE).

First, we went to Corral, for visit a natural reserve and find the popular house food La Abuela. Then, we went to Ranco lake; it's like a little beach, without waves. 

We stayed in Valdivia one week, because the next we had to go to Talca. I wish I had stayed more time, for visit another places.

I went with my boyfriend's family; I was their guest for the wedding. We only went for visit food houses, the lakes and the forest.

I have never gone to Valdivia. It was a great chance and I don't regret. Valdivia is beautiful, full of vegetation, surrouded by nature.

I would like to live in Valdivia, and maybe work there (if I have a car, because everything is far away)

A country i would like to visit

I would like to visit Canada. 

I really like the winter in North America; with the snow and the freezing weather So many years living in Chile make me get bored about the hot weather, and we don't have snow; the winter's here is just cold.

I only know in Canada there is a lot of inmigrant english and french-speaker; it's a multicultural country. That could gives me a different perspective about people's diversity, and helps me to know a many of stories. I would like to expand my knowledge in some many themes.

I would like to study, work and live there. The educational system is one of the best in the continent, according to some rankings. It could do a magister there. And one of the best things of Canada, it's the oportunity of work in differents company that will allow me to carry my future family.

The advantges are convincent, at least for me, with the weather, the education and the people. It's a great country for any people that wants grown up. 

Part VI - My favourite plant

I really don't have a favourite plant, but there is one that I like so much.

The lotus flower is beautiful and unique, and floats on the water. In many cultures is revered as a symbol of purity and perfection.

His botanical name is Nelumbo nucifera, and his family is Mynphaceaceae. Itś also know as Sacred lotus, Indian lotus and Chinese waterlily.

The lotus was extant extant 135 million years ago in aquatic habitats. His porpagation by the rhizome is the easiest and fastest means of reproduction as a part his growth and spread. The longevity of lotus seed have the world's record for long-term seed viability reported as 1300 years for a seed from China. 

Culturally, the lotus are used from deities to dead bodies and as a token of love. People believe that if they go out to work after seeing the lotus, they achieve succes. 

The flower is has a honey-sweet rich, floral and earthy aroma. Many pepople describe the aroma so aromatic floral. And his color, the pink, is complex. The constituens include caryohyllene oxide, B-cariophyllene and cis-jasmone.

Personally, I remember saw it in a biology textbook and take my attetion. I used my free times for draw it, in my notebooks, when I was bored, distratec or sad.

Part V - Study methods

Many students have problems in the study hour. I think it's necessary remember useful study methods. Maybe they don't work with you, but worth try it.

1. Take notes from the textbook or the teacher's material study:  It's effective if you are reading actvely. You can summarize the information and put it in your own words. The method help to identify key ideas, analyze the concepts, make connection between topics, all on your own way.

2. Spaced repetition: The technique is based on The Curve of Forgetting (imagen 1). You have to study the information in certain intervals. The repetition of this activity avoid to you forget in the time.

3. Practice quizzes - They will identify what you don't know and what you need to work on. You can use website for create your own quizzes based on your information. 

4. Discuss with your friends: In my personal opinion, the best study method. The talking to your friends, with jokes, funny facts and opinions will help you to have another perspective of the topics.
